Dormers

Most cape cod style homes were built in the 1940's and 1950's with the intention of keeping everything compact and simple. In this day and age, we say the bigger the better. In keeping with this philosophy, the best way to expand your cape home is to "dormer" it out. This consists of jutting out the roof and expanding the second floor with new roof doubling the space of the existing house.
